This ploddingly mediocre film appears to be interesting only in the latter half after inane scenes played spoilsport at the outset.

There is neither a riddle nor a puzzle in the tale. The portrayal of the lives of two youngsters and their financial burdens is simple but not impressively executed by debutant Senthil Rajan. With the absence of the riddle factor, the story remains as just an element for the sake of the flick.

"Kadam Kadha" tells about the mounting debts that leave two youths in the lurch and their desperation to get out of it. A Gulf returnee, Sreekumar (Renji Panicker), appears before Cleetus (Joju George) and Giri (Vinay Forrt) with a task and they accept it with half-heartedly. It was an alternative for them to evade from the clutches of their money-lenders especially from Sreekanth (Saiju Kurup). As part of their task they meet RJ Maneesh (Roshan Mathew) and his lover Jeena (Veena Nandakumar). But there is a dilemma in completing the mission.

The unimaginative screenplay hovers around the financial problems and the characters' tiff with usurers. Senthil succeeds in including anything worthy in the content of the film only in the latter half. But he fails to provide the blanket of a haze to the events to avoid predictability.

Written by Philip Sigi, the plot tries to put in the dictum that the peace of mind is priceless than being a millionaire. But the story obviously lacks substantial scenes to establish its purpose, and it is a strenuous effort for the viewers to trace something that enthralls them in it.

The lukewarm story finds its rhythm only in the latter half when the comic antics give way to a slight thriller mood. So the whole action is partially enjoyable once you sift through the lives of characters. A pervading mediocrity also sullies the entertainment factor.

Faizal Ali's visuals are noteworthy but Deepankuran's BGM does not make any impression.
