Tharangam Malayalam Movie
Tharangam is a film that starts off promisingly. When director Dominic Arun's disclaimer about the "inspired" style of his film and an experimental prologue hit the screen, we foresee a film that wants to make a difference. Alas, the actual film is simply a victim of weak writing and weaker vision.
Tharangam is Neram removed off all its value. A series of unfortunate events, similar to the one in Neram, sets things in constant motion, beyond the threshold of patience and coherence. The duo of Tovino Thomas and Balu Varghese, as young, corrupt, incompetent cops brings a good touch of buddy-cop playfulness. But, without the backing of a gripping narrative, their efforts do not pay huge dividends.
Thar
It seems like Tharangam dug its own pit here. We can quite picture a writer who splashed all his best thoughts onto the first page of his story and went to sleep afterwards. So, in spite of a hesitant attempt to think out of the box, Tharangam delivers a fractured film of inconsistent and unappealing entertainment.
