Patel S.I.R Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2017 | UA
Critics:
Jagapathi Babu in his dual role gives a believable performance but the movie doesn't work at all. The revenge drama is predictable. The movie is clearly inspired by a couple of old Hollywood movies, the new director has failed to tell it in an engaging manner.

Subash Patel (Jagapathi Babu) is an Army Major who fought Pakistan in Kargil War. He finally rites and at the same time, his wife Bharathi (Aamani) expires. Even though the war at the border is finished, Patel has to take up a war in the country's interior targeting four enemies. Who are they? How did they disturb Patel's Peaceful retirement life? How he eliminated them? forms the rest of the story.

Patel S.I.R is a story which suits Jagapathi Babu age and his styling in the movie is a big asset. It is the story only he can do. He ensured good variations in both the roles as Vallabh Patel and Subash Patel. Particularly his performance as Subash Patel is very impressive. Padma Priya and Tanya Hope did a good job in the roles they are offered. Kabir Singh, Prudhvi, Prabhakar and others appeared as baddies but failed to make a mark. Posani Krishna Murali and Raghubabu are decent.

Patel S.I.R. is a revenge thriller with no thrills. The good things about the film ends with Jagapathi Babu's good styling and performance. Once the hero begins his hunt, everything starts being predictable. The interval bang is good. The second half turns out to be better with emotional sequences working. But then it is still not enough for the audience to enjoy it.

Director Vasu Parimi made the story inspired from a couple of old Hollywood films but then the new director has failed to narrate it in an engaging manner. Technical values are good in the film. Camera work by Shyam K Naidu is good and the background score by DJ Vasanth has complimented the film. Dialogues are good here and there. The Production Values of Varahi Chalana Chitram are appropriate. Editing could have been a lot better.

Finally, Jagapathi Babu in his dual role gives a believable performance but the movie doesn't work at all. The revenge drama is predictable. The movie is clearly inspired by a couple of old Hollywood movies, the new director has failed to tell it in an engaging manner.
