Oraayiram Kinakkalaal Malayalam Movie
Beginning so quietly and then traversing through familiar premises, this film has something in store to wrap you in excitement. The plot does not claim to be an extraordinary material but the peculiar traits of the characters decide the merit. "Orayiram Kinakkalal" follows the dreams of some people and their mission to fulfil it.
Director Pramod Mohan restrains the plot sans going overboard especially when it enters into the crucial juncture of the murder of a business tycoon Abraham Mathan (Suresh Krishna). The pace is not apt for a thriller but still it keeps you on tenterhooks. By defiantly exploiting the innocuous expressions of Biju Menon, the director could give a convincing feel to the proceedings. The screenplay is written by the director along with Hrishikesh Mundani and Kiran Verma.
Sriram, played by Biju Menon, is on the brink of losing everything after his generous behaviour costs him dearly. This ex-NRI cherishes the dream of setting up a restaurant in the city. He hides his debts from his pregnant wife Preethi (Sakshi Agarwal). In another part of the city, we see a young man - Jaison (Roshan Mathew) and his friend Sherin (Sharu. P. Varghese) with their own problems.
Meanwhile, moneylender Lalaji (Saikumar) is the linking factor between the two main characters. Lalji's peculiar characterisation is amusing to watch. The common problem of the two characters prompts them to do something unusual.
Biju Menon and Roshan Mathew have given a dedicated performance while Kalabhavan Shajon as crooked police officer Shajahan has an impressive outing. Kunjunni. S. Kumar cranks the camera and his visuals carry enough support to the tale.
A sensibly written screenplay makes it a decent semi-thriller.
