Anando Brahma Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2017 | UA
Critics:
Anando Brahma is an okay watch with logic going for a toss at times. The movie has some hilarious moments (bathroom episode, etc) in the second half. It is a decent horror-comedy but needs trimming.

Four young men - Siddhu (Srinivas Reddy), Flute Raju (Vennela Kishore), Tulasi (Thagubothu Ramesh), and Babu (Shakalaka Shankar) have different problems in life and are in dire need of money. They decide to enter a house for money. Their mission is to prove there are no ghosts in the house so that its own, Ramu (Rajiv Kanakala) sells it and give them some money. What happens next in Sri Lakshmi Nilayam forms the Rest of the story.

The promotions of the film have Tapsee painted all over it but the fact is she gets a limited role and it is more of a film of Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar, Vennela Kishore and Thagubothu Ramesh. All of them did well. Particularly Shakalaka Shankar with his spoofs is hilarious. Rajiv Kanakala gets a good role and performed well. The others in the film are okay.

The story is around a haunted house. The variation from the other horror comedy films is that initially the ghosts believe they are humans and later at some point, they even fear the humans. It is a different point narrated well by the writer-cum-director, Mahi V Raghav. But then the first part of the film is routine and the film as whole is too lengthy. The second half has the story moving and some sequences are hilarious.

There are no songs in the film and the background music delivered by K is good. Anish Tarun Kumar's cinematography complimented the genre. The Production Values are appropriate. Editor Sharavan could have done better with his scissors.

Finally, Anando Brahma is an okay watch with logic going for a toss at times. The movie has some hilarious moments (bathroom episode, etc) in the second half. It is a decent horror-comedy but needs trimming.
