Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu Review

If you're not worried about logic and want to enjoy some of the most unadulterated adult content with raunchy punchlines, then this movie is for you! (2.3) (Baranidharan Sivasankaran)

When Tamil Nadu is in a state of flux, mired with so many social and political issues, the biggest entertainment medium has flexed its "flesh" to dish out an adult comedy! It's like a shock treatment for someone who is in a vegetative state! Declared as an adult comedy, the movie brazenly wears its 'A' certificate like a crown of glory and pulls off those raunchy lines under the belt!

Certainly, an adult comedy is not new to Tamil cinema. The last one was 'Trisha Illana Nayanthara' and before that, it was 'Kalyaana Samayal Saatham'. Off the two I would certainly pick 'Kalyaana Samayal Saatham' that had an engaging storyline and genuinely humorous dialogues that was spun around a certain plot. But in case of "Iruttu Arayil..." the movie's plot seemed to be optional and the crass dialogues were thrust forcefully into the proceedings. But it seems to work magic with the target audience - the youth, who throng the theatres and howl and whistle throughout.

Director Santhosh doesn't seem to care for anything logical. There was a ghost that loves sex. And, it wants a 'virgin boy'. So the only way out is for the boys to lose their virginity. The plot on the outside sounds raunchy enough! It was brought on the screen on a raunchier scale with crude slapsticks and over-the-top adult lines that spewed double entendres throughout.

The movie didn't demand much more than sleazy lines or costumes from any of the actors. Character establishment and plot arcs were sent flying out of the window along with the ladies' costumes. There were some genuinely humorous bits that worked and some stretchy bits that luckily scraped through.

The movie's length of under 2 hours and not too many songs helped the cause of packaging the movie on a compact scale. The last song that had sexier lyrics than the girls on screen managed to sum it all. A dig at Bigg Boss (Tamil) every now and then and Vikram Vedha was quite enjoyable too.

If you're not worried about logic and want to enjoy some of the most unadulterated adult content with raunchy punchlines, then this movie is for you! Otherwise, you can shy away from it.

PS: Strictly NOT for families!!
