There is no bottom to the absurdity this film generates sans scant regard for the sensibilities of the viewers. The whole purpose of the movie is to churn out lofty speeches about the charisma of an actor that creates only poor impact.

On the trot this month, we have yet another film that glorifies the charisma of an actor. This time it is in the crudest form on the premise of the screening of film "Pulimurugan" in a theatre at Irinjalakkuda, Thrissur. Actor Mohanlal is an emotional factor for all the characters, including policemen and even for migrant laborers. Again, the one-liner--- worshipping an actor-- is limited to the banal narration of the bizarre acts of fans. Moreover, the downfall is aggravated by the silly dialogues from the characters.

"Suvarna Purushan," written and directed by newbie Sunil Shakthidharan Puveily, never offers any promise to set things right at any point owing to a slipshod screenplay and poor settings. It's a prime example for how fissures crop up when the essential conflict is not incorporated into the proceedings.

Set in a theatre premise, the film begins on the eve of the release of "Pulimurugan" at Mary Matha Theatre, owned by Kunju Mary (Lena). Right from the off, the characters express their admiration for the actor through exaggerated remarks. Like all the characters, the operator the theatre, OPR Rappayi, played by Innocent, is always eloquent without serving any purpose to the movie. Mary had got the right to exhibit the film after piping other theatres. But the plot seldom moves to the rivalry among the theatres.

Sreejith Ravi as Eenasu and Kalinga Sasi as Kumaran have nothing in particular to do in the movie other than fulfilling the duty of praising the actor. Along with a poor storyline, the technical part has hardly anything to boast of.

The action is static inside the theatre forcing us to watch the highlights of "Pulimurugan" most of the time. The reactions of audience and violence of goons dominate this uninteresting film, which runs about 106-minutes. It is tiring and lacks any kind of creative aesthetics and structure.

There is no bottom to the absurdity this film generates sans scant regard for the sensibilities of the viewers. The whole purpose of the movie is to churn out lofty speeches about the charisma of an actor that creates only poor impact.
