NGK Tamil Movie
Surya as Nandha Gopalan Kumaran (NGK), a do-gooder since his childhood days... faces challenges from local politicians and other bad sources in many forms, which obstructs him to continue his welfare for the people around him. As a resulting solution, Surya gets into politics, which makes him experience the shades of the dirty world and become a CM at the end.
The master Director Selvaraghavan had absolutely gone CONFUSED and FRIVOLOUS with his script, narration, characters and what he really wanted to convey. TOTALLY OBFUSCATED!
Almost nothing seems new... more than the foreseen narration, honestly it tests viewer's patience and makes them go insane at one point, as it lags the engagement quotient required for the genre.
Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh do not have much to score... Rakul Preet Singh's so-called extra-marital affair with Surya does not bring a serious feel, with just a one night stand. Sai Pallavi sensing Surya's affair with Rakul Preet, by the deep smells of perfume in his body and its explanation might be a piece of awareness information for many :)
Ponvannan and the Kannada actor Devaraj look like serial watchers looking at the live telecast on TV, all the time. Writer Vela Ramamoorthy and Thalaivasal Vijay should absolutely avoid doing such absurd roles.
The retired military man Nizhagal Ravi (Surya's father) gets information about a couple of people, to help his son... only director will know how did that help Surya.
When the entire community keeps mourning thinking Surya is dead... he walks into the community with a furious song with background dancers... :) many would pinch and check.... are we watching a Selvaraghavan movie or someone else?
The major let down is... in a Selvaraghavan movie... many frames were usual and not contemporary... characters were artificial and unnatural... the narration has no serious purpose and the engagement factor heads south all the way from the start.
Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is just ok. The songs fail to marry with narration and look inserted. Especially the last song with Rakul Preet further slumps and torments the viewer.
The only savior on this patience-testing exercise is absolutely Surya. Good to see women audience flooding the theatres that prove his fan base.
In recent times... all the most expected Tamil movies are going disastrous, inspite of great star cast, lauded technicians and great directors... which really brings in a doubt... do these producers and makers read the script and watch such movies atleast once before it's released... when a common viewer could easily judge it within 2-3 hours of watching! It's an alarm! Wake up producers and makers!
Looking forward to a strong comeback by highly potential and master director Selvaraghavan in his next movie! This time with NGK... it's a debacle!
