Kumbalangi Nights Malayalam Movie
Kumbalangi Nights - An exquisite glitter of relationship!
A story of lackadaisical brothers with chronic intoxicating habits and no purpose in life reconstructs for better with the unfolding situations, women entering their life and their blossom of love for each other.
Soubin Shahir as the eldest of four brothers... makes it a merry watch, with his carefree nature at the earlier stages, literal fights with his two younger brothers and realizing the call for integrity among brothers. The scene where he asks "Endha da kidney venumo" to one of his younger brothers (Shane Nigam), when his brother approaches near him for a help... makes you go in splits and subsequently makes his brother call him "Chetta" for one time. Undoubtedly, a knock-out performance by Soubin Shahir.
Sreenath Bhasi, Shane Nigam and Mathew Thomas as the other three brothers have shown their uniqueness with their bolstering act.
From the frame, where Fahad Faasil's says "Raymond... the complete Man", "USA OK, India NO" homestay scene, the way he tries to position himself as the head of his wife's family, his intense looks & smiles every time and weird behaviors during the climax ... makes it a loud shout to say 'Fahad is a complete actor', even on an antagonist role. The mannerism he checks on his moustache each time exemplifies his efforts on bringing deep-rooted expressions for the character "Shammi".
The entire casting has been perfect with flawless scripting, no melodramatic narrations, natural way of expressions and equal roles for every character in the movie. A promising directorial debut by Madhu C Narayanan.
The thought of "strong and meaningful relationships" can even be built with strangers we meet in life, is been brought out genuinely.
