NTR Mahanayakudu Review
NTR Mahanayakudu is all about how Telugu Desam was formed, NTR's rise to the Chief Minister's Chair and the problems he faced due to the Rebellion in TDP by Nadendla Bhaskar Rao aided by Congress (Indira).
Balakrishna shines with a near-perfect portrayal of NTR. He is very good and is a major plus. His performance in the Assembly during the No Confidence Motion is one of his career-best performances. Rana is convincingly good. Kalyanram, Sachin Khedkar, Vidya Balan and other supporting cast are adequate.
NTR Mahanayakudu is technically good. Krish did good research on NTR's life but then, he struggled in narrating it well. There are no highs and lows to keep the audience engrossed. MM Keeravani's songs are good and the background score is exemplary. Gnanasekhar's camera work is excellent. Sai Madhav Burra's dialogues are the biggest assets of the film. Editing is fine. Production Values are excellent.
NTR Mahanayakudu as the title already suggests is about the Political Life of the Legendary Actor. This film limits itself to the Early Episodes tracking outside rebellion, portraying Chandra Babu Naidu in a positive and guiding light. It will be very appealing to the Current Crop of TDP supporters and is a Decent experience for the General Audience. Mahanayakudu has been successful in grasping and showcasing the emotional undercurrent of NTR as a People's Leader and Balakrishna holds the film together well. On the flip-side, over-dramatization of certain episodes could have been avoided. Finally, NTR Mahanayakudu is an average fare for the normal audience and good for fans.
