Here the protagonist is a junior lawyer with a stammering defect, and it apparently hinders the progress of his career. Director Unnikrishnan. B showcases it as an interesting factor while narrating Balakrishnan's (Dileep) struggles in life. Balakrishnan aka Balan's stutter is the solely element that draws your attention in the screenplay penned by the director. Evoking humour in such a sort of manner always derails the plot's aim and it seldom works out when Balakrishnan girds up for his heroic acts.
Right from the off, the purpose of initial scenes goes awry with drab introduction of Anzar Ali Khan (Aju Varghese) and 'Irumbu' Babu (Bheeman Raghu), who is also a stutterer. A meeting arranged by Balan's greedy brother-in-law Mohanan Pillai (Suraj Venjaramoodu), who is a policeman, with a stranger (Priya Anand) brings a new headache for Balan. Unknowingly, he intrudes into the life of Anuradha Sudarshan, played by Mamta Mohandas. When he starts to solve the issues of Anuradha, he encounters with a businessman Ronald (Harish Uthaman).
Meanwhile, Anuradha also wants to know the mystery behind his father's accident. With all this mystery on paper, the unfolding of events turns out to be illogical and purely lack conviction. The efforts to elevate the trite and soulless plot to an expected thrilling milieu bite the dust due to the trite treatment. 'Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel' offers a lethargic Dileep with minimal histrionics despite the character has a distinct feature in communication. Unnikrishnan hinges on that factor but the mishmash script keeps aside the possibilities of acquiring the creative sheen.
Dileep stutters his way through the role of Balakrishnan, and he fights against a conspiracy against him in bid to emerge winner in life. High on casting and pretty shallow in scripting, this thriller appears as spiritless and monotonous creation.
The dilemma of Balan is only peripheral and it is evident from the slipshod portrayal of his family relationships. Mamta Mohandas stands apart from other performers, mainly due to the character's permeation of emotional vibe in the plot.
Explore more, but the real conflict hardly bothers you while trying to lap up the impact. It's a usual pattern blended with low substance and it conveys a dismal experience.
