A terrible waste of time and money if you want to indulge in this poverty masturbation/ communist violence. The movie shows two different eras,the 1930's and the 1950's Mattanchery with its grotesque poverty,violence and filthy culture.The movie pacing is too slow and boring with nothing happening apart from poverty for most of the two hours 30 minutes with the last fifteen minutes showing the Mattanchery labour thugs strike of the 50's and the resulting firing by the police.Lack of will power,determination by the cast of this storyline to come out of the vicious cycle of poverty is unacceptable resulting in a permanent state of depression throughout the movie.There is always death,destruction,alcoholism,adultery and mind bending depression.
