I was pleasantly surprised by the conflict element that was the value proposition of "Good Night". The trailer of "Good Night" intrigued many, and people like me could relate to the core conflict in the movie. Snoring, which appears to be the most benign conflict among life's larger troubles, could have serious implications for an individual's psyche and relationships.

The movie revolves around 'Motor' Murugan (Manikantan), a young IT professional from a middle-class backdrop, with dreams and hopes battling against all odds to fight his inner demons, that assumes the form of loud snores. He yearns for a romantic relationship, and when he finds one, he struggles to reveal his actual issue, leading to further complications.

Meetha, who was last seen in "Mudhal Nee...", has a neat and offbeat role where she fits perfectly like a Lego block. She, too, carries a lot of burden within her, resulting in her hesitation to open up and embrace life.

The movie's charm lies in its supporting characters, who were chiseled out with delicate emotions. Ramesh Thilak, Raichal, Balaji Sakthivel, Bagavathi Perumal, and others brought immense value to the narrative.

The middle-class charm and the use of the Chennai dialect felt organic and natural. The movie had a fly-on-the-wall appeal for the audiences, often immersing viewers in its world. Additionally, the conflict in the story, the lead actor's snoring, led to some awkward and compelling situations for the characters.

The songs by Sean Ronaldan resonate well with the story. Thankfully, there are no lip-sync numbers, as they play in the background and propel the movie forward. The narrative is crisp, concise, and kept under 2 hours.

Such narrative zones used to be the playing arena of Malayali artisans. It is quite heartening to see our own budding Tamil directors choosing such quaint subjects to deliver a feel-good and charming movie. Kudos to director Vinayak Chandrasekaran and the team! Special mention should also go to actors Manikantan, Ramesh Thilak, Raichal, and Meetha for their sweet performances.

Watch it in theaters with your family! Such gems are few and far between these days!
