Queen Elizabeth: superficial take on a young lady's attitude to life
The paper-thin plot centred on the life of a young lady manager of a firm is all about keeping a positive frame of mind in life. But the peripheral depiction of the idea coupled with lackluster events barely helps the film to rise from its panting mode.Meera Jasmine, portraying the eponymous protagonist in 'Queen Elizabeth,' unveils a blend of sarcasm and humor when she confronts the truth about her life, shedding light on human nature and emphasizing the importance of a positive mindset. Despite director M. Padmakumar's attempt to capture the protagonist's mental turmoil through close-up shots, the film struggles to sustain engagement during its conflict phase. Arjun T Sathyan intricately weaves Elizabeth's demeanor and fetish attitude, portraying her as arrogant, yet the narrative lacks depth in this two-hour tale.
Elizabeth's isolated world, confined to her apartment and office in a mall, unfolds, revealing her disinterest in connecting with her family. The initial scenes establish her as a conscious and stubborn boss. The entry of Alex (Narain), who owns a bookstore in the mall and harbors a crush on Elizabeth, becomes a catalyst for change. Elizabeth's business trip to Coimbatore triggers a mental crisis, leading to a transformation in her behavior, surprising her family and forging a connection with Alex.
