War 2 has drawn a largely lukewarm to negative critical reception, despite the star power of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Most reviewers acknowledge the film’s slick production values, stylish visuals, and high-octane action sequences, with some calling it a passable big-screen spectacle for mass entertainment. A couple of critics even found it fun in a masala-film way, offering escapist thrills. However, the dominant criticism points to a weak screenplay, lack of compelling narrative, and absence of freshness. Many note that Ayan Mukerji’s direction lacks the racy energy of the original War, resulting in a laboured, unimaginative sequel that feels more like a travelogue than a tight spy thriller.
