Critics:
A perverted man's escapades turn unbearable for his wife and mistress, who decide to teach him a lesson. The film's efforts to make an emphatic statement on women's rights are poorly supported by a flat and feeble script.

Kamal's latest directorial endeavor aims to make a powerful statement about women's freedom and the preservation of their individuality. The plot revolves around a pleasure-seeking man who subjects women, including his wife, to mistreatment in bed, reducing them to mere instruments. Titled 'Vivekanandan Viralaanu,' the film delves into the voyeuristic escapades of a government employee engaging in an extramarital affair near his workplace in the city.

Penned by Kamal, the movie's theme holds potential for a compelling narrative, but it risks falling into the trap of cliches and overreliance on social media drama. Shine Tom Chacko takes on the lead role, skillfully portraying the psychological complexities of a protagonist from a village in Idukki. Despite Shine's adept portrayal of the perverted and sadistic hero, the script misses the opportunity to delve deeper into the protagonist's peculiar nature.

The film introduces Vivekanandan's sadistic nature early on, as his wife Sithara, played by Swasika Vijay, confronts him about mistreatment in bed. Unaware of his affair with Diana (Grace Antony), Sithara appears submissive to Vivekanandan's peculiar instincts. Vivekanandan, a government employee in Kochi, displays a flirtatious nature that disregards the dignity of women for his own pleasure.

Diana, a junior artist in films, finds herself unable to oppose Vivekanandan due to owing him money. As a tenant, Vivekanandan exploits Diana and her bedridden mother, prompting Diana to seek help from her friend Ayisha (Mareena Michael Kurisingal), a popular vlogger on YouTube. Both Swasika and Grace convincingly portray their characters, with the former navigating the role of the obedient wife.

The downfall of 'Vivekanandan Viralaanu' occurs in the retaliatory episode of the affected women against Vivekanandan. The film heavily relies on social media platforms to drive the plot towards its climax, resulting in a lack of imaginative ideas. The depiction of the hullabaloo on social media feels immature and crude, leading to an overdone and banal drama. Despite glimpses of promising elements in the plot, the film's efforts to make a statement on women's rights and dignity are weakened by a flat and feeble script, leaving viewers with a sense of emptiness.
