The RajaSaab Telugu Movie
A young heir embraces both his royal heritage and rebellious spirit as he rises to power, establishing unprecedented rules during his reign as Raja Saab.
The RajaSaab has received an overwhelmingly negative-to-poor critical reception across major national and regional outlets. While the film sets out to blend horror, fantasy, and comedy around a potentially engaging central idea, critics largely agree that the execution is deeply flawed. The narrative is described as disjointed, tonally confused, and excessively long, with humour that rarely lands and horror elements that fail to generate either fear or intrigue. Prabhas’s sincere effort to step away from his action-hero image and attempt comedy is one of the few aspects noted positively, but most reviewers feel his affable presence is squandered by weak writing and sloppy direction. The comedy is frequently termed cringe-inducing or outdated, the visual effects tacky, and the pacing uneven with long dull stretches. Female characters are underwritten, romantic tracks feel obsolete, and the film’s reliance on CGI-heavy set pieces further distances it from emotional or narrative coherence. A few critics acknowledge isolated moments—particularly parts of the second half or pre-climax—that briefly show promise, but these are far too sporadic to salvage the overall experience. Several reviews bluntly state that the film is suitable only for die-hard Prabhas fans with very low expectations.
Verdict:
The RajaSaab is a misfired horror-comedy that squanders its premise and star power. Despite Prabhas’s earnest attempt to diversify his screen persona, the film collapses under weak storytelling, tonal imbalance, outdated humour, and poor technical execution. What could have been a quirky genre experiment instead becomes a tiring and forgettable spectacle that rarely delivers on laughs, scares, or emotional payoff.
