Dheeram has received a largely negative-to-mixed critical response. While critics acknowledge that the film begins with a promising investigative-thriller premise and attempts to sustain tension through twists and graphic intensity, the execution is widely seen as its weakest link. Multiple reviewers point to excessively elaborate, untidy writing and poor creative judgment—particularly in sound design, pacing, and tonal control—which dilute the film’s potential impact. The film’s handling of violence, especially crimes against women, has been called exploitative and troubling rather than incisive or meaningful. Though a few reviews describe it as an “okay” or serviceable thriller, most agree that the narrative ambition collapses under miscalculations in craft and restraint.
Verdict:
Dheeram aspires to be a hard-hitting investigative thriller but ultimately falters due to flawed writing, overindulgent violence, and uneven execution. Despite flashes of promise, it fails to justify its intensity or deliver a coherent, compelling experience.
