ishkindhapuri has drawn mixed to average reviews from critics. Most felt the film shows effort in creating an “organic horror” atmosphere without relying on comedy or gimmicks, and praised its production design, sound design, and background score, which give the film some strength. A few sequences, particularly in the first half and certain possession or hospital scenes in the latter half, manage to engage. However, the overall execution falls short. The second half turns predictable, the pacing drags, the horror twists dilute rather than heighten the tension, and the climax leaves little impact. Emotional depth is lacking, which weakens the audience’s connection to the story.
Verdict:
Kishkindhapuri is a mediocre horror thriller that shows flashes of creativity in its design and technical values but struggles with pacing, predictability, and emotional engagement. Worth a watch only if expectations are low and for its technical strengths, but it doesn’t deliver a satisfying horror punch.
