“Bommarillu” is like a gentle gust of cool and fresh wind amidst the stench and stale air. The movie sparkles as brightly as the sparkle in the eyes of the lead actor Siddhartha and also it is as simple as the naive lead female character played by Genelia.

“Bommarillu” is another good movie after “Godavari” and in the same class with a different landscape. If the natural sceneries were the backdrops of the movie “Godavari”, it’s the city and its landscape that forms the backdrop of the movie Bomarillu.

Admit it, for long we have been mostly made to watch movies full of violence, comedy with double entendres and love stories placating and sucking up to the audience. We even went on to make some of them hits, because there was no choice. Watch it or leave it. And just when you thought that there is a dearth of creative talent (exception being Sekhar Kamulla) to make simple films with the proper understanding of human behavior and thought process; producer Dil Raju and director Bhaskar present “Bommarillu” – a movie that is a class apart from the rest of the movies now being shown in the theatres.

“Bommarillu” reassures the viewers that there are plenty of talented people around to come up with films sans vulgarity and violence to present pure entertainment in a dignified way. The addition of Bhaskar to the pantheon of directors who can make a decent movie is a boon to the Telugu film industry.

“Bommarillu” probes deep in to the psyche of parents and their grown up children to analyze where and how conflict between them starts. It also presents the solution.

Siddhu (Siddhartha) is the son of Prakash Raj and Jaysudha. Hailing from a rich family Siddhu has a problem of excess. If he wants a cycle his father presents him with a bike. In his eagerness to keep his children happy Prakash Raj always goes a step forward. But the ever-caring father hardly asks for the likes and dislikes of his children. He just decides. And the movie is about to what extent Siddhu follows the dictates of his father and where he stands up to say ‘NO’.

Siddhartha is undoubtedly a consummate actor. Watch the climax scene and you will appreciate his acting talents. Like always he acts perfectly as a rich and sophisticated boy. Siddhartha is one actor who has a terrific dress sense. The dresses he wears for this movie are trendy, youthful and very elegant.

Prakash Raj as usual retains the fluid acting style. Genelia has done a good job as a chirpy girl. She is a typical city girl from a lower middle class family. Sunil, Jayasudha and Kota Srinivasa Rao all fit their roles superbly.

Director Bhaskar needs special mention as he has hit success on his debut. There are umpteen numbers of times the viewers laugh at the good jokes cracked by the characters in the movie. Bhaskar should consider himself to have won the approbation of the audience as the climax scene educes thunderous applause from them. That’s a sure sign of the movie going down well with the viewers. We will expect more such clean films from him in the future.
