Snehaanaa Preethinaa produced by cameraman Anaji Nagaraj is a remake of Hindi film Ishq. Though the film was touted as a full-length comedy film with two heroes and two heroines, the end product is an uninspiring fare. It falls many steps below the highly entertaining ISHQ.

Though Darshan who plays Amir Khan's role in the Kannada remake has given his best performance in the film, the remake fails to make any impact mainly because of the poor direction of debutant director Sahuraj Shinde. Despite having a good script on his hand, Shinde does not succeed in recreating the magic of "Ishq', but fails to generate any level of excitement in many key sequences of the film. And to tap it all he has not tried to get best out of his top technical team with even Music director Harikrishna failing to give some good numbers.

Snehaanaa Preethinaa is also handicapped by the below par performance of two heroines Lakshmi Rai and Sindhu Tholani who falls short of all expectations. While Darshan is at his best, Audithya proves to be an ideal foil to him in this film. These two real life friends have been able provide lot of entertainment through their skills. But the two heroines in the film are not a match to the electrifying Juhi Chawla and Kajol combination in the original ISHQ. And Rangayana Raghu and Rajeev who have played negative characters in the film have crossed all limits of over acting. Both these artists shout so vehemently that you think there was no sound engineer at the time of the dubbing work. Even veteran character artists like Doddanna and Sathyajit are made to shout in their respective sequences, which lessens the impact of the comedy elements.
