Overall, Tashan is a weak product, badly directed with a nonsensical storyline and average music.

Directed by the writer of the Dhoom series, Vijay Acharya, Tashan is Akshay Kumar's first release of the year after 4 consecutive hits in 2007. Tashan also stars Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. A formidable star cast, huge banner and great hype, Tashan has everything going for it. But is it a good movie?

What happens when you throw two guys who hate each other together...?

A cool call center executive Jimmy Cliff (Saif Ali Khan), a desi gangster Bachchan Pande (Akshay Kumar), add for good measure a beautiful girl Pooja (Kareena Kapoor) who can't be trusted... on a journey across spectacular India... a journey which will alter the course of their lives in more ways than one... a journey where even enemies need to trust each other if they want to be alive...

Trouble is, in this world no one can be trusted ever!

And to top it all there is the evil eye of Bhaiyyaji (Anil Kapoor)... a maverick gangster who enjoys killing people as much as he enjoys speaking English...

Yash Raj Films have got it all wrong yet again. Tashan is yet another weak product by YRF after duds like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Aaja Nachle. How many times have we seen a Yashraj movie in recent times with a senseless story? Add Tashan to the long list. The first half is boring; it's so boring that you wait for Akshay Kumar to make a grand entry. Even his entry though doesn't make much difference… Second half is interesting at times but too many songs at regular intervals act as speed breakers. There are a lot of senseless twists n turns and the sequences are bizarre and rushed through. In short it's tough to sit through Tashan.

The music of Tashan too is disappointing. Only Dil Haara and Chaliya stand out. The cinematography is pretty good. The dialogues are mostly bad.

A few positives include, a super hot Kareena Kapoor in a bikini (yeah, it not just a rumor), Akshay Kumar's action scenes (although very unrealistic) and Anil Kapoor's Hinglish dialogues.

Performances in Tashan are decent. Akshay Kumar rocks yet again with a spirited performance. No one could have actually carried off Anil Kapoor's role in Tashan. He portrays it with ease and his dialogue delivery is top notch. Saif Ali Khan is wasted. He has nothing much to do throughout and is completely side lined in the second half. Kareena Kapoor bares it all (a lot of skin show), looks scorching hot and acts well.

Overall, Tashan is a weak product, badly directed with a nonsensical storyline and average music. It has very little chances of succeeding at the box-office. The IPL and dispute with the multiplexes will severely dent its first week collections.
