Produced by Aamir Khan, directed by Abbas Tyrewala, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na has Imraan Khan as the hero, nephew of the great producer himself. Abbas Tyrewala in his maiden directorial venture has also scripted the movie.

Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na revolves around, Jai Singh Rathore ('Rats'), the most non-violent Rajput either side of the Aravallis and the violent and passionate Aditi Mahant ('Meow') who scratches and abuses when you pick a fight with her. Rat is the only person who can control and calm our snarling cat.

There cannot be any other match for rat and cat except for each other. Except these two, from family to friends everyone knows that they are perfect for each other. Can two people ever, truly, know the secrets of their hearts? And how do you know it's the real thing? When do you know it is love?

A script, not without its share of flaws, executed quite well by first-time director Abbas Tyrewala. Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na Na have a set of characters that will connect easily with the younger generation. Take for example this, when Aditi questions Jai's mom, wondering how time has passed by in college, pat comes the reply "On the phone beta, on the phone". Dialogues are fantastic and refreshing.

The movie begins well, the characters are well developed, the viewer gets totally involved in the proceedings, there are emotions, and comedy and scenes that make you smile. The movie is basically targeted at the youngsters, the college going audience. But it has something in it for the older generation as well. The first half refreshes those memories of the good old college / school days.. The characters of the 6 friends are almost perfect, their chemistry superb. Second half, which mainly concentrates on the love angle, is slow at times. The jail scene and the climax is a bit hard to digest, but as long as it entertains, who cares about logic? And entertain, it sure does except for a few minutes in the second half, the pace is consistent. Music (A.R. Rehman) is great. "Pappu Cant Dance Saala" is a chartbuster.

Imraan Khan delivers a sincere performance. He is great with his comic timing, in the emotional scenes too he manages to impress. A very confident debut, looking forward to more of him in the future. Genelia D Souza expresses well with her eyes, a bit of work on her dialogue delivery wouldn't hurt though. Paresh Rawal and Naseeruddin Shah are good. Every actor has managed to deliver good performances.

To sum things up, the film will receive a lot of appreciation from the target audience. The movie has just about the right ingredients for a huge commercial success.
