Orkuka Vallappozhum Synopsis

Orkkuka Vallappozhum, directed by debutante Sohanlal (the maker of many notable tele-films) tells the story of seventy-year old Sethumadhavan, who undertakes a journey to a hill-station. There he stays in an old bungalow, which for him is much more than a mere building. The bungalow is for him symbolic of his past, his childhood, adolescence and years of growing up. At the bungalow his mind travels down memory lane and he is taken to his early years, when he lived at the hill-station, the son of a teacher in a British School. His mind goes back to those good old days. He had as his constant companion a young girl, Paru and spent his days happily in her company. Sethumadhavan's past is contrasted with his present. In his present, he is all alone. His wife is no more. His son and family are settled abroad. And now, back at the hill-station, he comes to know of the untimely death of Paru. It's veteran actor Thilakan who does the role of Sethumadhavan. Goal fame Rejith Menon plays the young Sethumadhavan, while debutante Shilpabala plays Paru. While songs penned by Gireesh Puthencherry have been set to tune by M.Jayachandran, the film also features poems penned by P. Bhaskaran.
