Agyaat is an adventure-thriller, with a film-inside-a-film setting that is set deep inside a forest with minimal facilities. The film crew comprises of Sharman (played by Gautam Rode), who is an uptight, fits-throwing protagonist, leading lady Aasha (played by Priyanka Kothari), a South Indian producer Moorty (played by Ishrat Ali), an eccentric director JJ (Howard), who considers himself nothing short of Spielberg, a obedient spot boy Laxman (Ishtiyak Khan), the philosophical cameraman Shakky (Kali Prasad), a crazy action director Rakka (Kale), second assistant (Rasika Duggal) and an assistant director (Nitin Reddy).

It all begins when the camera conks off. With no work running and nothing to do, Setu the care taker of the rest house suggests a camping trip into the forest. As night falls, they decide to settle near a pond and just then a strange noise is heard. Setu who goes to investigate never returns.

Agyaat runs on a wafer thin plotline. It starts off with a shoddy item number, drags on for a while as the characters are introduced and the shooting begins. The frequent tantrums of the showy protagonist Sharman, is second only to NIsha.. err Priyanka Kothari's annoying act. Post interval the pace picks up, but just when you get sucked into Ram Gopal Varma's strangely inconsistent direction, the movie ends in an abrupt climax without disclosing the evil force behind the dozen deaths. Does the director seriously expect us to shell out money, literally cheat without revealing the mystery and expect us to return for Agyaat 2? Undoubtedly, worse than the idea of remaking Sholay..

Dialogues are too dull and too silly. The sound design and background score, while at times misleading, are ok. The pulsating score increases the adrenaline rush momentarily, only to disappoint you with, well nothing!

Performances are below average. All actors fail miserably, both with expressions and dialogues. Nitin Reddy is the actual hero of the movie, but hardly has anything to do. Priyanka Kothari is good as long as she sticks to her routine dance and raunchy movements, she should just do item numbers full-time, zero acting talent. Gautam Rode is poor. The rest are okay.

Overall, Agyaat is a dud, if anything it can only be watched for Priyanka Kothari's skimpy outfits.
