The big screen debut of Nausheen Ali Sardar, who shed more than buckets of tears on television as Kusum. Produced and written by Vikram Bhatt, Three - Love Lies and Betrayal also stars Ashish Chowdhary and Akshay Kapoor.

Three revolves around a couple Anjini and Rajeev, and a charming yet canny stranger Sanjay. Anjini manages to make a good living for herself and her failed husband by taking violin classes for kids. But Rajeev's egotism strikes bad and he harasses his wife into selling their house to fund his new business. Unable to tolerate her furious husband's pressure, she agrees to sub-let the house to make some extra money for their living.

Sanjay, a singer at local pubs, enters their house as the new tenant. Soon he gets to know about the strained relationship between Anjini and Rajeev and begins to take advantage of the situation. This, results in an illicit relationship between the two.

Well, the plot sounds like a seen-it-many-times-before love-betrayal tale, but 'Three' takes you in for a surprise with its twists and turns. Although the movie has a lot of pit holes, it refrains from being a pot-boiler. The first half is slow paced with lots of time spent in establishing the three main and only characters. The script is inconsistent for; you find some scenes detached from each other. But post interval Vishal Pandya manages to impress with his execution of Vikram Bhatt's well-written script. It picks up pace, packs enough twists and eventually culminates into a good climax.

The chemistry between the actors isn't great but individual performances are good enough. Nausheen Ali Sardar does very well in her big screen debut, certainly an actress to look out for in the future. Ashish Chowdhary seems to be improving with each film, Dhamaal was his turning point. Akshay Kapoor is good.

To sum up, Three - Love, Lies and Betrayal is one of the better movies this weekend.
