The association between Ali Akbar and Thilakan goes back several years, when they had made 'Mukhamudra' that was a super hit.

Years later, Ali has got another opportunity to work with the actor in 'Achan'. In the film Thilakan plays Major Madhava Menon, an elderly gentleman who has seen better days and who has been left alone.

'Achan' is Thilakan's first major film after he has been expelled from AMMA, and the film therefore has had to face several hurdles, says the makers.

The film is based on a play written by S.R. Surendran, who has also scripted it. Another higlight of the film is that there are only two actors in the film, the other being Sasi Eranjikkal, who plays a male nurse, and forms a bonding with Menon.

Thilakan doesn't have too many dialogues to mouth in the film. He banks heavily on his expressions to play the character.

Thilakan has pinned all hopes on the film 'Achan'. The film was shot on loactions at Kozhikode.
