Veedinthe Telugu Movie
After the success of 'Naana' Vikram sat down with the director of his next film and had a long chat. He said; I don't know what you do, my next film should give my fans all that they ever wanted. I don't care how you do it but I want it. The director took a short break; spent few days all by himself and came up with the script of 'Veedinthe'. He went and showed it to Vikram and he loved it. Let's do it said Vikram, finally. Had this had been the kind of conversation between Vikram and the director before the start of the film; no wonder the film was so pathetic.
The film narrates the story of Fire Shankar (Shankar), a gym instructor who aspires to become a notable villain in films. He stumbles upon Dakshina Murthy, who runs an orphanage. His son, a political enthusiast is hell-bent of robbing his father off his property to use it for his political endeavors. Shankar turns savior and stands in between the baddies and the orphanage. How does Shankar protect the orphanage from the clenches of the bad guys' forms the rest of the story.
There is no way you can relate this film to Vikram. A man of his caliber being part of such a stupid film is like picking up an axe and chopping your own legs and hands. Seriously, I have no idea why would Vikram sign such a film at the first place. There is barely anything worth mentioning in the film. Brief scenes involving Vikram and veteran actor and director k. Viswanath brings forth moments of laughter that fails to last long. Also, I believe the time has come for Vikram to sit back and think harder before signing on a film.
Director Suseeinthiran's last three films were highly successful both in Tamil and Telugu, maybe that's why he seems to have taken things lightly. His direction appears totally haphazard and heartless. 15 plus characters for Vikram is completely needless and it was as though the hero was competing with Kamal Haasan, only to fail miserably in the process.
Vikram was neat in his performance but overall output of the film was minimum and below average. He should also keep in mind that he is not young anymore. Every attempt to look younger will only make him look artificial. Deekhsa Seth brings some excitement in the form of skin show. Either she's seen shedding clothes or wearing micro skirts in all songs. She didn't have much of a role to prove her mettle. Rest of the star cast was barely noticeable, as their part had minimum importance as compared to Vikram's so many characters.
