Bond is too violent now: Roger Moore

London, Nov 12 (IANS) Veteran English actor Roger Moore, who famously played James Bond (1973-1985) with a tongue-in-cheek humour, believes the famous Bond franchise has become too dark now.

"I am happy to have done it, but I'm sad that it has turned so violent. That's keeping up with the times, it's what cinema-goers seem to want and it's proved by the box-office figures," Moore said in an interview about his memoir, "My Word is My Bond".

Moore, 81, also recalled being appalled at the violence in "A View to a Kill", the 1985 movie, which was the last of the seven in which he played Bond, reports dailymail.co.uk.

"That wasn't Bond," he averred.

The actor has not yet seen the latest Bond instalment "Quantum of Solace".
