'You will soon see me on screen,' superstar Rajinikanth told fans as he came out of the Secretariat where he met Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Friday and presented to her a cheque for Rs. 10 lakh for 'Thane' cyclone relief.

Rajinikanth said this was his first meeting with Chief Minister Jayalalithaa since he recovered from the illness. He described the meeting as a 'courtesy call'. When he was undergoing treatment in Singapore, Miss Jayalalithaa had called up his family and enquired about his health.

As news of their meeting spread, fans had started gathering outside the Secretariat to greet him. Coming out from the Secretariat, he waved to them enthusiastically and told them that they could soon see him on screen. The fans seemed overjoyed. 'We are happy he has recovered now and is getting back to shooting,' a local fans association secretary told the media.

'Kochadaiyaan', directed by superstar's daughter Soundarya, will be his first film after recovering from the illness. Soundarya, who is working on the project in association with director K.S. Ravikumar, plans to start shooting by the end of February, but has not firmed up the actors' dates yet.

On Thursday evening, Rajinikanth, accompanied Soundarya, attended the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg's Classic Incantations, a performance of songs set to music by A.R. Rahman.. Rajinikanth and Rahman , who are close friends, had no opportunity to meet and interact in recent months. Click the Movie button below for more info:
