The Week In Bollywood In 12 Pictures

Global Citizen Concert, Coldplay, Chris Martin, birthdays, dancing, grand events and the boss – Rajinikanth himself — the past one week in Bollywood was indeed a happening one.

Here's a quick glimpse at all the action that kept Bollywood lively in the week gone by through 12 pictures.

Chris Martin & AR Rahman

The whole of last week was only about Coldplay and the band’s frontman – the cool dude – Chris Martin.

The band was in town to perform at the Global Citizen India Concert and not just the aam junta but even the entire Bollywood industry went into a frenzy. Result: We saw the world-famous sensation at a series of parties hosted in his honour.

And while there are dozens of pictures of him from all the revelries, the one picture that beautifully sums up his visit to India is this one with AR Rahman.

The man really stole the entire nation’s heart when he sang – Vande Mataram with AR Rahman on the stage. It was simply mesmerizing.

Rajinikanth

Well, as much as it hurts to say, the fact is, the craze around Coldplay was only short-lived.

Soon after the hyped concert, the Boss of Indian cinema, Thalaiva arrived in Mumbai and stole Chris Martin’s thunder.

Rajinikanth released the first look poster of his next film 2.0 amid a huge fanfare and we got a picture of a lifetime as he posed with Bollywood’s most popular action heroes — Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan.

Aamir Khan & Geeta Phogat

India’s first female wrestler to compete at Olympic games — Geeta Phogat, was one hell of a lucky bride. After all, not everyone has the privilege of having Mr. Perfectionist at their weddings.

Aamir Khan, who plays Geeta Phogat father onscreen in Dangal, took time out from his busy schedule and went all the to Balali, a village in Haryana to attend her wedding.

That’s not all Aamir even greeted all guests on behalf of the Phogat family.

Methinks, it an extremely sweet gesture. Good going, Aamir!

Ranbir Kapoor & Ranveer Singh

Usually, there are sparks when an ex-boyfriend bumps into the current beau, however, when Deepika Padukone’s ex and current flame came together on the Koffee With Karan show, it was a complete riot.

While the episode is yet to be aired, the picture here is a proof that despite a history the two young guns of Bollywood share a warm camaraderie.

Psst! Reportedly the duo even made fun of Katrina Kaif on the show.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Aaradhya Bachchan

Last week also marked the birthday of Bollywood’s princess — Aaradhya Bachchan. And while all the celebrity mommies and daddies turned up for the party with their babies and posed for pretty pictures, the photo that won our hearts was posted by papa dearest.

Abhishek Bachchan treated all his fans by sharing and absolutely adorb picture of Aaradhya with mommy Aishwarya.

Arjun Kapoor & Katrina Kaif

The Half Girlfriend actor and Jagga Jasoos actress raised many eyebrows as they strolled hand in hand at the Global Citizen Concert.

However, we are told not to put two and two together, as Arjun Kapoor and Katrina Kaif claim to be just good friends.

Twinkle Khanna

After her delightful debut on the Koffee With Karan show, Akshay Kumar’s actor-turned-entrepreneur-turned-author wife launched her second book — The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad in a star-studded event.

Needless to say, despite the starry presence, it was her wit again that stole all the limelight.

Gul Panag

If you were wondering where the cute dimpled actress of Dor – Gul Panag had vanished?

Well, she was busy studying to become a pilot. Yeah, you heard me right, the feisty actor and fitness icon was learning to fly and now is also a licensed pilot.

Talk about flying high, Gul definitely took the adage way too seriously. More power to you girl.

Kareena Kapoor

Pregnancy has not stopped our Bebo Begum from slaying. Be it at events or photoshoot, Kareena Kapoor Khan has been happily flaunting her baby bump.

Salman Khan & Sania Mirza

Another highlight of the week was the Tubelight star — Salman Khan and India’s tennis sensation — Sania Mirza dancing together at latter’s sister’s Sangeet.

Salman and Sania danced their hearts out on ‘Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai’ and this picture of theirs literally broke the internet the next day.

Priyanka Chopra

After the success of her first Marathi film – Ventilator, as a producer, the Quantico star is all set to release her debut Punjabi film Sarvann.

John Abraham

Rickshaw ride anyone? On a promotional spree for Force 2, John Abraham enjoyed a fun-filled auto ride.

Alia Bhatt & Shah Rukh Khan

The Dear Zindagi stars barged into the Padmavati sets during one of their promotional sprees and got us some first-hand information about Deepika’s look from the film.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika were shooting for the Ghummar number and were pleasantly surprised to see Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt on the sets. Apparently, the foursome spent close to 30 minutes talking about SLB’s next magnum opus.
