Courier Boy Kalyan Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2015 | UA
Critics:
Courier Boy Kalyan is supposedly a romantic thriller but neither the romance nor the thrill worked in the film. Except for a novel point, the director let down the film big time with all his failed attempts to make it interesting. Give it a try if you have nothing to do this weekend.

Kalyan (Nithin) is a courier boy in Hyderabad who happens to see a Khadi Bhavan sales girl Kavya (Yami Gautham) while delivering a courier and falls for her instantly. He starts to following her to impress. However he bumps in a drug mafia who are after a package he should deliver to a researcher, Satyamurthy (Nassar). What is in that package? Why they are after it? How it ends finally forms the rest of the story.

Courier Boy Kalyan do not have any mindblowing performances. Nithin just performed decent in a happy-go-lucky guy character. He is good in romantic scene and shared a decent chemistry with Yami Gautam who is pretty but have very little to do in terms of acting. Ashutosh Rana is good as a wicked doctor. Nassar, Surya, Surekha Vani, Harsha Vardhan, Satyam Rajesh and Ravi Prakash are not that great. Sapthagiri is totally wasted.

The movie draws some inspiration from Hollywood film, Premium Rush but the point is definitely novel to Telugu audience. But the debutant Prem Sai failed to deliver a gripping screenplay which is needed to make such films interesting. More over he tried to induct unnecessary commercial elements which completed ended up as a mishap. The first half is totally wasted by an unnecessary love track.

Dialogues totally fell flat. Songs are decent but placement is too bad as most of them come back as speed breakers. Sandeep Chowtha's back ground score is not appealing. Cinematographer Satya Ponmar does a decent job. Despite being less than 2 hours, the film still feels long.
