Rabhasa Telugu Movie
Karthik completes his graduation in US and heads back to his motherland. His mother (Jaya Sudha) wants him to marry her brother's daughter, Indu (Samantha). While everything looks right for the alliance, both the families get divided due to a small feud. Karthik takes a owe to unite them and fulfill his mother's desire. He joins Indu's college and wants to convince her for marriage. But he takes Bhagyam (Pranitha) for Indu (Samantha) and tried to woo. Rest of the story is about the confusion between them and how both the families get united.
NTR carried the film entirely on his shoulders. He excelled in the role with excellent comedy timing and amazing screen presence. The emotional scenes between Jaya Sudha and NTR came out very well. Samantha was mostly confined to glamour and have very little scope to perform. Pranitha steal the show totally. She is gorgeous and shared sizzling chemistry with NTR. Brahmanandham is the show stealer, he carried out the entire second half with excellent comedy. Jaya Prakash Reddy us routine, Nasser and Jaya Sudha did not get roles with substance.
Santosh Srinivas seem to be not a believer of taking any risks. He took a routine beaten story and drove home with a beaten to death screenplay. You get to predict each and every scene of the movie coming next. If not for some excellent comedy show by Brahmi in the second half, the film would have been a mishap.
The music album of the film is good and all the songs are very neatly canned. However Thaman faltered in delivering good back ground score. Shyam K. Naidu's camera work is colorful. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's scissors have got blunt in the first half. Production Values are uncompromising.
Rabhasa is the one man show of NTR well complimented with some excellent comedy from Brahmanandham. Like most films these days, the film is less on substance more on comedy. But some how Telugu audience have developed high tolerance levels to such films. So Rabhasa is expected to work out well at the box office.
