Swapaanam Malayalam Movie

‘ Swapaanam’ directed by award-winning filmmaker Shaji N Karun features Jayaram in the role of a chenda artiste that he occasionally takes up in real life too.

Unni (Jayaram) is a temple percussionist. Nalini (Kadambari) is a Mohiniyattam dancer who dances to the beats of a chenda instead of an edakka.

Unni and Nalini are attached to each other to the degree that transcends the devotion to their respective art forms.

Unni is so passionate about chenda, it takes him through restricted realms, challenging traditional values. He has a troubled past and his genius is never acknowledged.

The script of ‘Swapanam’ is penned by Harikrishnan and Sajeev Pazhoor. Saji Nair handles the cinematography. Sreevalsan J Menon composes music and the background score is done by Isaac Thomas Kottukappally. Padmashree Kalamandalam Kshemavathy is the one behind the choreography of Mohiniyattam.

Siddique, Vineeth, Lakshmi Gopalaswami, and Sajitha Madathil also do important roles along with a host of talented and well known chenda players. ‘Swapanam’ is produced under the banner of Horizon Entertainment.
