Phoring is a story of innocence and love which builds through a relationship shared between adolescence and adulthood. The confusions, the immaturities of adolescence are expressed alongside the freedom and maturity of adulthood in Phoring. The sheer free flowing narrative is not only a good watch but definitely portrays a different side of life.

Sweet crushes, adolescent aspirations are almost part of all our lives. The adults and their maturities seem to be a very enigmatic concept during our teenage. We all end up liking someone and therefore aspiring them sometime or the other during teenage.

In the midst of his mundane livelihood Phoring too seeks freedom and therefore wants to fly free like a dragonfly. It is through his private tutor Sohini, Phoring gets a glimpse of adulthood and opens the window of imagination and begins to fly along with her in search of a reality that he believes only is possible with her.

Phoring's journey with her suddenly comes to a halt when one day she disappears, it is then that he travels in search of her to the unknown city of Kolkata from his safe cocoon and suddenly has to behave like a grown up in reality.

From the simple yet enigmatic posters Phoring is able to capture the semantic codes quite easily. Director Indranil Roy Chowdhury deserves a pat for this simple narrative sans superstars and also for adding a simplistic touch to the film. The journey that Phoring takes us on is a journey many of us have taken almost sometime or the other in our lives. The simplicity and innocence of the narrative is definitely a stopper and does make all of us believe in the simplicities of a life that we all have left behind.

The child actors are natural and add to the simplicity of the film. Sohini supports them with ease and makes Phoring shine with glory.
