Loukyam seems to be a new addition in Tollywood's trend these days. 'No Novelty in Story and Screenplay, Entertainment is the sole mantra' is being followed successfully for several films. If audience chose to focus solely on Entertainment once again, the film will end up as the biggest hit in Gopichand's career. In the critics point of view, the film is one more stale attempt.

Venkateswarulu / Venky (Gopichand) is a fun loving youth who helps his friend to elope with a girl. The girl's brother and his goons start hunting Venky for revenge. It was then Venky leaves Warangal and goes to Hyderabad to evade them. In Hyderabad, he bumps in to Chandrakala (Rakul Preet Singh) and tries to woo her. When Chandrakala starts responding to him, a sudden twist occurs in the story. What is it? How the twist influence their lives? Will they succeed in life? forms the rest of the story.

Coming to the performances, Gopichand whose forte is action till now in his career tried his hand in comedy for the first time. His efforts in executing the role are commendable but he is seen slightly uncomfortable playing the role. Rakul Preet Singh is dead drop gorgeous but somehow the chemistry did not sizzle between them. Mukesh Rishi is as usual. 'Mirchi' Sampath's role is almost a photocopy of the role in Mirchi. Brahmanandham, Chandra Mohan managed to tickle audience and are effortless in the roles. '30 years Prudhvi' excelled in the spoofs. Hamsanandini sizzled in an item song.

The story and screenplay of Loukyam is almost like 'Old wine in a old bottle'. There is nothing novel in the story and Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan added their proven confusion drama screenplay formula to it. Sreedhar Seepanna's dialogues at times irritates you with too may attempts for punches. Anoop Rubens totally let down the film. Except for Ninnu Chuddagane song, no other song is worth mentionable and better forget about back ground score. Vetri's camera work is colourful. SR Sekhar's editing should have been more efficient to cut down the 149 minutes film. Production Values of Bhavya Creations are superb.
