Sequels carry the burden of standing tall and eclipsing its prequels. Moreover, they are capable of tantalizing a viewer by giving myriad expectations. "Honey Bee" was a surprise package from Lal Jr. to an extent with its local flavor. It also announced a director's audacity in the portrayal of youths' lifestyle and celebrations.

In the second installment, "Honey Bee2", the celebration is there: you witness people frantically vie for liquor on the eve of the marriage between Sebastian aka Seban (Asif Ali) and Angel (Bhavana). The impressively shot opening scene sets the stage for their new life. When Michael (Lal) enquires about Seban's family background, he reveals about his parents, who are lawyers in Bengaluru, Thampy Antony (Sreenivasan) and Ruby (Lena). Now Michael and his brothers set out to meet his parents in Bengaluru and they present it as a fresh marriage proposal. At first, egged on by his friends Ferno (Baburaj), Abu (Sreenath Bhasi) and Ambrose (Balu Varghese), Seban too joins Angel's family in the drama.

Lal Jr. takes a didactic route midway through the movie and it backfires, thanks to a half-baked script. From drunken parties to distasteful comedy, the film repeats its "Honey Bee" hangover. With a floundering screenplay, the director's attempts to give a hue of seriousness to the plot choke the film resulting in providing a huge disappointment in the making of the film on all aspects.

Moreover, the celebrations on the previous day of the wedding snowball into a scuffle that ensues to the extent of evoking disgust in the mind of viewers. "Honey Bee2" fizzles out mainly due to its shoddy screenplay and this celebration provides a bitter taste.
