Pooja Telugu Movie
Pooja is the story of Vasu(Vishal)who makes a living in a vegetable market by lending money. He falls in love with Divya (Shruthi Haasan) and starts wooing her. On one occasion, Vasu happens to save a police officer(Satyaraj) who is being attacked by a cold blooded criminal, Singanna (Mukesh Tiwari) and his gang. Later Vasu finds that the rivalry is not any new but Singanna is the same guy who is tormenting his family in the village. Rest of the film is about how Vasu eliminates Singanna and saves his family from his evil clutches.
Vishal gets one more center stage character in Pooja. He performed very well in action sequences as well as emotional scenes. Shruti Hassan gets a meaty role and she adds the required oomph factor for the film. Mukesh Tiwari is good as the baddie and matched the hero to make sure the heroism gets elevated. Comedian Suri brings in few laughs here and there but as a whole most of the comedy seem to be forced and did not work out.
Coming to the film, Pooja's first minus is the routine story which gets more and more predictable after each and every scene. We expect an action entertainer from a director like Hari who churned out films like Singham but on the contrary we get to have more focus on comedy which is stale as well. The film falls flat in the first half itself and proceedings become unbearable in the second half.
Dialogues by Shashank Vennelakanti are awfully bad. Songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja are complete disappointment while the background score was decent. The Editing was pretty decent considering how the script churned out. The film's dubbing is okay but the girl who dubbed for Shruti Haasan was too loud. Production Values of Vishal Film Factory are grand.
Finally, Pooja is routine commercial pot boiler which is cooked really bad. There is nothing that which may excite you to watch this fill. Skip it!
