Lion Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2015 | UA
Critics:
Lion is a film which Balayya will repent doing and giving a chance to amateur director like Satyadeva proved costly. Except for a very few fanzy moments, the films is a complete let down. Give it a try only if you do not want to miss the film!

Bose (Balakrishna) is a sincere CBI officer who is entrusted with the case of solving the death mistery of the Chief Minister. Bose easily cracks it leading to the new Chief Minister, Bharadwaj (Prakash Raj). However Bharadwaj takes things seriously and injures Bose sending him in to Coma for more than an year. When he finally regains consciousness, he finds himself between people who call him as Godse. Finally Bose sets to Hyderabad to get back his lost identity and save his family from Bharadwaj.

Nandamuri Balakrishna is always a director's man. His abilities are drawn when the character he plays has the strength to challenge him. However none of the characters in the film were able to do that. Trisha and Radhika Apte are beautiful but there is no substance in their roles. The chemistry between the lead pair looked very awkward and can be easily avoidable. Prakash Raj, Indraja, Jayasudha, Aditya Menon are totally under used. M S Narayana, Posani Krishna Murali and Ali only overacted in the name of comedy.

Coming to the film, many directors seem to have a very bad opinion about mass films or mass audience. They often tend to take them for granted and throw up routine stories stuffed with over the top action sequences, illogical scenes and over board dialogues. Debut director Satyadeva is one of them. Through out the film, you get a feel, that you have seen or heard the story and the scenes in the film some million times several years ago. Only the interval bang and few fan moments here and there are saving grace for the whole film.

Mani Sharma's music is naive but the songs are shot well. Particularly the song with both the heroines will enthrall the masses. Venkat R Prasad's visuals are fine but the VFX work is of very poor quality. The Production values of SLV Cinemas are appropriate.

Finally, Lion is a film which Balayya will repent doing and giving a chance to amateur director like Satyadeva. Except for a very few fanzy moments, the films is a complete let down. Give it a try only if you do not want to miss the film!
