Shourya Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2016 | UA | Comedy
Critics:
Dasaradh tried to deviate from his usual routine and tried some thing different. But in the process, he missed on working out any emotions that are needed for the audience to connect. Except for the honest attempt, there is nothing commendable in the film. Shourya will end up as one more disappointment for Manoj and Dasaradh.

Shourya (Manchu Manoj) is a young lad hailing from a family who is content with what they have. He suddenly falls in love with Nethra (Regina Cassandra). As always, both of them fall in love after some time. Just then, a small problem sprouts and pushes Nethra's family to the extend of leaving the country. The night before Nethra's journey, she and Shourya does Jagaram in a temple. The next morning, Nethra is seen with her throat slit. While she is battling for life in hospital, Shourya gets arrested. He even agrees about committing the crime in court. What happens next in the story forms the rest.

Manoj became chubby for his role in the film but it did not suit him and he looked awkward in many places. Coming to acting, it is not that great but fits the film. Usually we see Manoj in energetic roles, but here we see him in a silent role. Its a new attempt for him. Regina is totally seen in a homely role. She impresses every one with a meaty role. Prakash Raj is a big bonus for the film and he performed very well. Nagineedu, Subbaraju, Nandi, Shravan, Satya Prakash are okay. Prabhas Seenu sizzled in couple of roles but Brahmnanadham once again failed miserably.

Dasaradh is known for family films until now. For a change, he mixed thriller concept in a love story. The main plot and the thrilling episode in the film has some resemblance to Allu Sirish's Gouravam. Only the treatment is different. The line chosen by Dasaradh is good but the way he narrated the story did not work and is boring. Gopimohan who wrote the film is a big culprit here. Kishore Gopu's screenplay is also equally unexciting. For this is the weakest direction outing for Dasaradh. He failed to showcase any emotion correctly in the film. Due to the twist, some scenes are good.

Mallar Bhat Joshi's camera work is just okay. Veda came up with an ordinary album. Only couple of songs are good. Back ground score is also not any different. SR Sekkhar also failed in editing. We almost feel 2 hours film as a 20 hours movie. Dialogues by Hari and Kishore are also not effective. Production Values are decent.

Finally, Dasaradh tried to deviate from his usual routine and tried some thing different. But in the process, he missed on working out any emotions that are needed for the audience to connect. Except for the honest attempt, there is nothing commendable in the film. Shourya will end up as one more disappointment for Manoj and Dasaradh.
