Spyder Telugu Movie
Spyder is the story of two Psycho Brothers (SJ Suryah and Bharat) who are hellbent on destroying the people and an intelligence officer, Shiva (Mahesh Babu) who tries to solve the case by nabbing them. What is the motive of Bhairavudu (SJ Suryah)? The duel between them forms the crux of the story.
Mahesh Babu is at ease as always in the role. He effortlessly transformed into the role but somehow, the elements needed for fans are missing. Rakul Preet Singh gets a role with good run time but it is not important in the context of the film. SJ Suryah is superb as the baddie. Bharat is also okay as well. Priyadarshi and RJ Balaji were seen as Mahesh's colleagues/friends at the IB. They are okay.
Murugadoss has come up with a decent story but then, poor execution and very flat narration disappointed the film big time. There is not even a single exciting sequence with the much-needed high in the whole film which gives us an impression of the experience. The first half is just okay with a good interval block setting up things for a high second half. But the latter part disappoints further. The two action blocks which are raved about in the movie promotions were technically good but lacks any impact. Murugadoss totally failed to utilize Mahesh Babu in the film and this may be the director's weakes work till date.
Harris Jairaj's songs are okay. Couple of them are well shot and the background score is effective. Santosh Sivan's camera work is the major highlight of the film and Sreekar Prasad's editing is good. The CG work is too good. Production Values are Grand.
Finally, Spyder fails to live up to the hype and expectations it has got. The Crime Thriller needs several high points and racy narration which are totally missing. Try it only for Mahesh Babu and some good technical work.
