Feature Film | 2016 | UA | Suspense, Thriller
Critics:
Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada works due to its different storyline and gripping narration even though it has a weak and lengthy climax episode. The movie is still a good time-pass movie. Try it this weekend!

Arjun (Nikhil) has a love failure in college after his girlfriend, Ayesha never turns up on the D-Day of marriage. Four years later, Anand gets settled as a VFX Supervisor and one day accompanies his friend (Vennela Kishore) to Kerala as the latter was possessed by an evil spirit. There he falls in love with a beautiful girl Amala (Hebah Patel) but then when both of them try to reveal their feelings. A sudden twist occurs in the love and life of Arjun. What is that? and what happens in the next forms the rest of the story.

Nikhil is convincing to the core in the role. Nanditha Swetha is a show stealer while Hebah Patel is okay. Avika Gor is seen in a little cameo and also puts up an impressive performance. Vennela Kishore and Satya evokes good laughs here and there.

Nikhil is coming up with interesting scripts these days and he should be appreciated for that. And then choosing a script which has more emphasis on heroines is certainly admirable. The movie starts on a dull note but picks pace with Kerala Episode. There are enough twists and turns will keep the audience engrossed. Further, there is a good dose of comedy which makes its entertaining.

VI Anand's Story and narration are engrossing. Nanditha Swetha's character is a revelation in the film and is the major highlight of the film. But then the film goes out of the track with the climax which is very much contrived. Comedy, good narration, the performance of Nanditha, and the superb camera work works for the film while the negatives are some dull episodes and lack of believable factor. Some good 15 minutes can be easily trimmed from the film.

Sai Sriram's Cinematography is the major highlight of the film with right colours and lighting for the thriller. Music album composed by Sekhar Chandra is average while background score is impressive. Production values are good while dialogues are appealing.
