Colkatay Columbus is an under marinated, half baked concoction of too many issues, mostly blown out of proportions. Roy (Gaurav Chakraborty) and Sam(Anirban Bhattacharya) are two urban lads of the present era. One is the efficient corporate honcho brushing his English and shoulders with his immediate boss (Tanushree Chakraborty) to climb the corporate ladder. The other boy works as a Radio Jockey with a dream of having his own music album someday and therefore desperately falls for an intolerable bimbo who giggles too much and obsessed with social media, Sakira (Ritabhari Chakraborty). Though Sam finds his true call in Sneha, his colleague(Suchandra Vaniya).

Sakira's father supposedly owns a petrol pump and the deal is someday he might finance Sam's music album. Amidst this chaos, they suddenly stumble upon the 15th century Italian Voyager, Columbus and voila most of their problems are sorted out. While they are totally immersed in their Columbus "messiah" uncle, he goes "missing". Now, who is Columbus, is he a Con Man or a metaphor is for the audience to decide.

Sourav Palodhi is a radio jokey turned stand up comedian turned theatre director turned film maker. His approach towards film making as a debutante shows promise. All the actors in the main lead, from Mir as Columbus, to Gaurav Chakraborty as the decent corporate guy acted quite well. Anirban Bhattacharya, the rising star of Bengali cinema and Bengali theatres tired his hand in comedy for the first time and deserves accolades. His versatility as an actor is becoming prominent day by day. Keep it up Anirban. The ladies of the film can take the crown home. Each served their best.

Nevertheless, the film falls flat because of the huge caveat in the script. The second half is too dragging and is not required at all. The Director sounds too pedagogical in place of being satirical. The film lacks finesse very crucial for making a sensible comedy!
