Raja The Great Telugu Movie
Lucky(Mehreen) is the daughter of a sincere police officer (Prakash Raj). In an operation, the baddie gang eliminates him and are after Lucky later. Raja (Ravi Teja) is a blind guy who wants to become a cop. He is added as an Extra to the troop which is on an operation to save Lucky. Rest of the story is all about how the blind Raja succeeds in the mission.
Ravi Teja has essayed the role of a person who is visually challenged. Even with that, Ravi Teja is livelier and energetic in the film which comes as the major plus point in the film. In fact, he makes the film watchable. His son, Mahadhan makes his debut as a child artiste and wins marks. Mehreen is pretty ordinary while Radhika came up with a fine performance as Ravi Teja's mother. Prakash Raj is good in a brief role while Rajendra Prasad and Prudhvi are wasted. Srinivas Reddy is good. Posani and others have done regular acting. Tanikella Bharani and new actor Vivan Bhathena as villain have done terrific job.
Raja The Great is a routine commercial drama except for Ravi Teja has essayed the role of a person who is visually challenged. Although he doesn't see, the actor does all kind of acts a normal Telugu cinema mass hero does. The first half of the film is some fun with Ravi Teja's antics despite routine affair. Logic goes for a toss at many places. The second half is quite boring. If not for good characterizations and comedy, the movie would have been a damp squid.
Raja The Great has good production values with quality camera work from cinematographer Mohana Krishna. Music director Sai Kartheek has given tunes that appeal to the masses but the background score is impressive. As a writer and director, Anil Ravipudi is quite mediocre and routine. Dialogues and fights, however, are good.
Finally, Raja The Great is a routine commercial film with predictable story and template screenplay. Ravi Teja, however, saves it with his energetic act making it an average fare.
