Saakshyam Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2018 | UA | Action
Critics:
Saakshyam is a regular action drama with a tinge of fantasy to make it a bit different. But then, except for the excellent visuals and superb action sequences, the film has nothing. It may cater only to some section of the masses.

Viswa's (B Sai Sreenivas) family gets massacred during his childhood when he was baby boy and he gets adopted by a rich NRI Family. After he becomes a man, Viswa falls for Soundarya, a traditional looking girl (Pooja) and approaches her for his Desi Video Game Project. But The Mother Nature has different plans for them and brings all the ones behind the massacre to one place and make them pay for what happened to Viswa's Family.

Bellamkonda Junior tried his level best to perform this role with ease. Even though it is not a major makeover, this stands out as the better performance of his career so far. Pooja Hegde plays a substantial role in the movie but is still ordinary. The actress, however, looks beautiful in traditional attire. Jagapathi Babu is at his menacing best with his poetic lines being highlight. Ravi Kishan, Ashutosh Rana, Kabir and other villains are okay. Rao Ramesh, Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Posani and other supporting cast are adequate. Sarath Kumar and Meena appear in cameo roles.

Sriwass picked up a great script but has let it down with his ordinary narration and poorly timed songs. Harshavardhan Rameshwar came up with decent music. Shivam Shivam song in the film is superb. But as said already, all the songs are badly placed. Action sequences of the film are major plus. Arthur A Wilson's camera work is good while Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is adequate but the run time should have been cut by some 15 to 20 minutes.

Saakshyam has shades of Baahubali at least for the beginning of the Story Outline. The first half of the film is boring with poorly written love track. The story gets engaging in the second half with the killings of the villains. But it is shortlived as the film slowly drifts into a regular pattern and crashes down in the climax. Saakshyam is a regular action drama with a tinge of fantasy to make it a bit different. But then, except for the excellent visuals and superb action sequences, the film has nothing. It may cater only to some section of the masses.
