Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne Hindi Movie
Crime, passion and all that you expect from a Bollywood flick. Sangeeth Sivan's Chura Liya Hai Tumne is all that and nothing more. The ad lines call it a romantic thriller. Director Sivan seems to be trying hard to make it a thriller, but somewhere in between he loses track of the romance he had conceived. The movie whips up some interest owing to the fact that it is the launch vehicle of Zayad Khan, son of veteran actor and director, Sanjay Khan and the brother-in-law of Hrithik Roshan.
The story line goes thus. Tina (Esha Deol) who is holidaying in Goa meets the dashing Vijay (Zayed Khan) and the two fall in love. But their joy is short-lived as Tina has to fly to Bangkok where her uncle has been killed in an accident. Vijay accompanies Tina to Bangkok. On landing in Bangkok, she is shocked to know that her uncle had been involved in an illegal gold heist along with four accomplices and was wanted by the Indian government. Soon Tina finds herself in a dangerous situation with her uncle's accomplices trying to hunt her. The story takes a twist when Tina realises that Vijay is the fourth accomplice. Things get complex when two of the accomplices get killed leaving behind Vijay and another accomplice as the prime suspects to murder.
Sangeeth Sivan's Hindi venture is a complex one that would leave the audience perplexed. In fact, romance is added just with an eye on the box office collections. Chura Liya Hai Tumne is more about thrills, and Zayed Khan has more than adequate scope to flaunt his meat. The acting bit is better left unsaid. And, talking of Esha, though she has so much to do she manages to "act" only at times. Another highlight of the movie is the presence of former cricketer Salil Ankola in a prominent role.
Chura Liya... is Pantaloon's second venture in Bollywood after Na Tum Jano Na Hum. The masala ingredients, including the fast paced songs, may see Chura Liya... through. But the audiences would ask for a better fare from Sivan who has some decent Malayalam movies to his credit.
