Jayadev is the story of an upright Police Officer Jayadev (Ganta Ravi) who locks horns with a local goon, Mastan Babu (Vinod Kumar) in a case in which the latter kills a Police Officer Sriram (Ravi Prakash) for pursuing evidence against him. The rest is all about how Jayadev pins down Mastan Babu and do justice to the family of Sriram.

Ganta Ravi is serious failure in his debut movie, Jayadev. Even though, he honestly tried to emote well, the amateurism is all over and he has to work a lot hard for his second film. Malavika Raj is used more for the glamour part. Vinod Kumar is back to Telugu Cinema with a significant role after a long time and he is just okay. Vennela Kishore, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, and Siva Reddy are passable in the roles they are given.

We do not know if it is a remake or freemake, but the movie has a strong resemblance to Tamil super hit, Sethupathy and is very badly handled by the director Jayanth C Paranji. Some scenes about the greatness of the police department are the only saving grace about the film. The love track is bad and the second half with too much of predictability and boring sequences is even worse. Lack of entertainment tests the patience of the audience.

Mani Sharma failed to show his mark in the songs and all of them are mere speed breakers in the movie. The background score is impressive. Jawahar Reddy's camera work is good while the production values are grand. Editing is too bad.

Finally, Jayadev is a bad launch pad for Ganta Ravi. He has to change all things from his styling, acting to story selection if at all he is serious about a film career.
