Shamanthakamani Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2017 | U | Comedy, Crime
Critics:
Shamanthakamani ends up as a decent watch with an intriguing second half. If not for the dull first half and predictable story, the movie would have been a blockbuster. It is still a One Time Watch.

Krishna (Sudheer Babu) along with his Girl Friend (Annanya Soni) goes to a party in a pub of Hyderabad. After the party, Krishna finds his five crore worth Rolls Royce vintage car stolen from the parking lot. He files a case and it is taken up by CI Ranjith (Nara Rohit) who begins to investigate all the people who had attended the pub on that night. Shiva (Sundeep Kishan), Karthik (Aadhi) and Car mechanic ( Rajendra Prasad) are among those who are in the pub and will be interrogated. What finally happens in the case forms the rest.

Sundeep Kishan, Sudheer Babu, Nara Rohit, and Aadi have performed well with Sundeep Kishan making a last impression as Rajamundry Street thug. Sudhir Babu is awkward in emotional sequences. Nara Rohit is at ease in the role of a cranky police officer while Aadi who is seen as lover boy is okay. Rajendra Prasad is good but his love story is awkward. Tanikella Bharani and Suman were at usual self. Chandini Chowdary, Indraja and Annanya Soni were wasted in insignificant roles.

The

premise of the story is interesting but then the director Sriram Aditya going into every character's flashback and their stories made the first half boring as the director deviates into the actual plot. The second half is interesting with good twists and turns. Sriram Aditya gets decent marks in his direction stint. Dialogues are fun and background score by Mani Sharma is an asset. The camera work is impressive in the film which runs mostly in the Night Mode. Editing is decent and the production values are impressive.
