Prematho Mee Karthik has a good concept but the director disappoints with his slow-paced narration and predictable proceedings.

Materialistic businessman, Gopikrishna (Murali Sharma) is an NRI residing in the United States. He is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, he decides to take a 30 days trip with his son, Karthik (Karthikeya) who also has a materialistic approach to life. Rest of the story is all about the various people they meet along their way who give them a fresh perspective on life, while Gopikrishna tries to hide the fact of his impending death from his son.

The movie has an ensemble of the senior cast besides the new hero Karthikeya and heroine Simrat Kaur. Karthikeya and Simrat looked a good fit for the roles but the performance levels are amateurish. Both of them struggled in expressions and dialogue delivery (lip sync for Simrat). Murali Sharma and Gollapudi Maruthi Rao have got significant roles and they are good. The other notable names include 30 Years Prudhvi, Jhansi, Raghu Karumanchi and others. They are okay with whatever they are offered.

ite being a small film, Prematho Mee Karthik is a technically good film. Director Rishi chose a story with a connection to the current generation and tried to stuff it with a good dose of emotions. He did a decent job for a first timer. Saiprakash Ummadisingu's camera work is colorful. The background music by Malayalam music director Shaan Rahman is too good while the songs are also decent. Editing by Madhu is decent. Production Values of the film are very good for a small film.

We have seen numerous films basing on the cinematic family emotions from Bommarillu to Shatamanam Bhavathi. It all depends on the talent of the director to drive home the point he wants to tell. Director Rishi failed exactly here. The director takes too long to establish the characters while the second half is stuffed with dramatic family emotions which give you an unnatural feel. The conflict point between the father and the son are also disappointing in the first half and the climax is also not handled well. The director definitely missed a chance after having a good story in hand.
