Amar Akbar Anthony Telugu Movie
Amar (Ravi Teja) and Pooja's (Ileana) families are settled in the USA. They are Business partners in a USA based Pharma Company. Their Parents get sabotaged by the minority shareholders and were later killed in a bomb blast. Rest is about how Amar and Pooja survive and later to meet to avenge the killing of their parents.
Raviteja, although decent, fails to shine mainly due to the limitations enforced by such a poorly written script. He did some okay comedy in the character of Akbar. Ileana proves to be a poor and costly choice surprisingly in a poorly etched character. She is glamorous in a couple of songs. She is okay with her own dubbing. The four villains are highly disappointing. Sayaji Shinde is okay as FBI Officer Abhimanyu Singh. Sunil, Vennela Kishore, Satya, Raghubabu, Giri, and other comedy gang did okay.
Srinu Vaitla who is being criticized for his usual formulaic stuff tried something different in this film but to of no use. Even though he tried to pick a story with a different concept embedded to it, he badly misfired in narrating it. Songs composed by Thaman are average and background score is okay. Venkat C Dilip's cinematography is adequate. Editing by MR Varma is ordinary. The Production Values of Mythri Movie Makers are grand.
Amar Akbar Anthony is one film which is like Do or Die for Ravi Teja and Srinu Vaitla. Even though there is an intent of trying something different, nothing worked for them. It is a literal Bore-fest right from the word Go. The director failed to establish emotions properly and once again faltered with silly comedy mixed with outdated narration.
